evenless allows you to submit a LESS file to a webserver using command-line utilities (for example, cURL) and have it returned to you, compiled as CSS.
It means that you can easily compile LESS on systems without a LESS compiler installed.
This is useful for use with tools like CodeAnywhere and Cloud9, as well as for those who develop on, for example, an iPad.
curl -d @/path/to/file.less https://evenless.mania.systems > file.css
If that seems lengthy to type every time, grab this script and set it up:
mv lessc.sh /usr/bin/lessc chmod +x /usr/bin/lessc
/usr/bin/ could really be anywhere in your environment’s PATH. Then you can execute with:
lessc /path/to/file.less > file.css
Sure! Find it on GitHub.
git clone https://github.com/maniasystems/evenless.git cd evenless/codebase php /path/to/composer.phar install docker build -t evenless . docker run -d -p 80:80 --name evenless --restart always evenless
That’s it - although you’ll probably want to update some of the links and URLs in
index.php. You should also edit
util/lessc.sh and change the URL there.
If you don’t want to run it in Docker, just run composer as above, then upload the contents of
codebase/ to your PHP web server.
